With the new year just a few months away and retailers racing to reach their goals of opening more stores by the end of 2025, including beauty retailer Bluemercury.

Bluemercury sells skincare and beauty products, and also offers facials and brow styling. Macy's acquired the company in 2015 for $210 million in cash and has since added Bluemercury locations inside some Macy's stores, per the company's website.

By the close of 2025, the New-York based company will have opened nine new locations this year, Jenna Goldberg, Bluemercury's head of stores, omnichannel and strategy, told USA TODAY on Oct. 2.

"Bluemercury is opening new locations across key neighborhoods and cities, focusing on areas where demand for its luxury beauty and spa services is high," Goldberg said.

Where has Bluemercury opened new locations?

According to Goldberg, new locations and relocations this year include:

Florida – 421 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33027

While Goldberg declined to say where the upcoming locations will be, three more openings are planned for 2025 and details will be announced at a later date.

Bluemercury declined to share specific plans for 2026, but said the company will continue focusing on expanding.

According to Goldberg, the company "will bring new locations to coveted neighborhoods across the U.S. where our clients live, work, and shop."

Husband and wife duo Barry Beck and Marla Beck founded Bluemercury in 1999 in Washington DC's Georgetown neighborhood. The couple said "blue" represents trust and loyalty, while "mercury," the god of information, represents the company's desire to offer customers honest advice.

In September 2019, the Becks began to transition out of leadership roles at Bluemercury, Macy's announced. Two years later, Macy's announced that Maly Bernstein would join Bluemercury as Chief Executive Officer. Bernstein previously served as Vice President of E-Commerce at CVS Health.
