Arch Manning will be playing for more than just Texas football's 2025 college football season on Saturday, Oct. 4, against Florida.
The Longhorns quarterback will also be playing for family pride, and a familial .500 career record vs. the Gators when the teams square off at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida.

His uncles ― Peyton Manning and Eli Manning ― were 2-3 all-time against Florida during their collegiate careers. The matchup between Arch Manning and the Gators comes exactly 22 years after Eli Manning led Ole Miss to a 20-17 win in Gainesville.
The Mannings are 1-3 all-time at the Swamp.

Peyton Manning infamously never beat Florida during his playing career. He went 0-3 as a starter against the Gators, but 0-4 overall, as he was third on the depth chart in 1994.
In his first start against the Gators in 1995, Peyton Manning threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns, helping Tennessee jump out to a 30-14 lead late in the first half. However, Danny Wuerffel threw for 381 yards and six touchdowns as the Gators outscored the Vols by 34 in the second half to pull off the 62-37 win.
The roles nearly reversed in 1996, as Florida jumped out to a 35-0 lead and this time Peyton Manning attempted to lead the comeback. He finished school-record 492 yards and four touchdown passes on 37-of-65 passing for the Vols, but they came up short in a 35-29 loss, as he also finished with four interceptions.
In his final game against Florida, Peyton Manning completed 29-of-51 passes for 353 yards for three touchdowns, but also threw two picks in a 33-20 Gators win. Fred Taylor rushed for 134 yards and Doug Johnson threw for three touchdowns in Florida's win.
"It bothers me that we never did beat Florida, but hey, I can't control the way other people view Tennessee or view my career," Manning said after the game. "I'm sure Coach (Steve) Spurrier will go make a few more jokes. That's fine. He's got a good ballclub."

In his first and only trip to Gainesville, Eli Manning did what his elder brother could never do: Beat the Gators in the Swamp. He threw for 262 yards and led the Rebels to a 50-yard scoring drive to earn the 20-17 win over the Gators.
"That team is beatable," Eli said after the game. "They're really not the team they were a couple of years ago when they had [Danny] Wuerffel and all of those other guys."
