- *Virgin River *season 7 still doesn't have a release date nearly a year after season 6 premiered.

- But production has wrapped and star Alexandra Breckenridge has answers to some of our biggest burning questions.

- She gives us some hints, but she keeps us guessing too.

It was the gasp that left us hanging.

At the conclusion of *Virgin River *season 6, Jack (Martin Henderson) went to check on Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) and their twins after Charmaine failed to show up to do Mel's hair and make-up for her wedding. Searching the house, he opens the door to the twins' room and gasps before the show fades to black.

While we still don't have a release date for season 7 of the Netflix series, we're dying to know what provoked that gasp, so we tried to get the show's star, Alexandra Breckenridge, to give us some hints. "I do know [what makes him gasp]," she says. "But I can't tell you. It's too big of a thing. I couldn't possibly."

Funnily enough, Breckenridge says that she doesn't even consider that the best cliffhanger of season 6. "My favorite cliffhanger was when Mike tells Brie that he knows she slept with Brady," Breckenridge adds. "I was like, 'What? He knows that she slept with someone else and he still wants to marry her. What's that about?'"

In addition to whatever is going on with Charmaine, Mel (Breckenridge) and Jack have their own challenges to face. For some time, they've wanted a baby and after several failed attempts to conceive, they've decided to pursue adoption.

But they might become parents sooner than expected considering that Marley (Rachel Drance) told Mel that she wants them to take her baby. "The storyline with Marley and the baby does not disappear in season 7," Breckenridge says. "It's pretty heavily featured. I can't tell you what happens with it, but I can tell you that it doesn't disappear. It's still there, and it's something that me and Jack have to navigate through. It brings stuff up, of course."

As for when we might get season 7 and some answers, Breckenridge is tightlipped, but she makes an astute observation about the Netflix programming line up.

"There is a lot going on this year for Netflix," she notes. "The finale of *Stranger Things* as a series is going to be a big deal. If I was an intelligent person, guessing, I would say I wouldn't roll *Virgin River *out until the new year."
