Rumor has it that longtime Robert Pattinson fans may be in for a real treat, as new signs may be pointing toward the Twilight star preparing to put out new music.

Some eagle-eyed fans noted that a handful of new songs have reportedly been registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), a non-profit organization that helps artists license their work.

Multiple fans and outlets have cited seven new tracks reportedly co-written by Marcus Foster, who is also credited on some of Pattinson's previous work: "Bent Out That Midnight Day," "Best Friend," "Fascinate," "Fell Off," "Green Light," "Waiting On Me," and "Witness (You See Me)."

Parade was unable to verify these specific tracks, but did find six other unreleased registrations: "Dragon Surprise," "Girl," "Merry-Go-Round," "Mexico," "Reluctant Gods," and "Soul Searcher," all with another writer named Nicholas Smith. It's unclear when these tracks were registered, and whether they've replaced the aforementioned finds or if those tracks have, for some reason, been hidden.

It's also unknown when any of the reported new tracks may be set for release, nor whether Pattinson may have an EP or full-length debut album in mind. It's worth noting that merely being registered does not guarantee that a composition is set for recording or release, but it does help establish ownership, typically for copyright purposes.

While the Prospect Surprised Some, Longtime Fans Have Been Praying for This Moment

Many users online were surprised by the news, with one commenter replying, "No way. I'll believe it when I see it."

Original fans have been waiting for this moment, though, as two of Pattinson's songs—"Never Think" and "Let Me Sign"—are on the Twilight soundtrack, though neither are available to stream on Spotify.

"Old school Twilight fans rise up," one called, while another cheered, "Hell yeah. We still think about you 'Let Me Sign.'"

"If joy had a sound, it would be that sentence!!" another exclaimed, calling it "about time."

"...he has such a marvellous talent and his voice translates emotion," they added, calling back to another popular, but unreleased, "masterpiece" called "I Was Broken."

"People weren't here when the Twilight soundtrack dropped and it shows," another quipped.

"WE WILL BE STREAMING," another declared emphatically, while others crossed their fingers for a collaboration with his fiancée, singer Suki Waterhouse.

Fans Have Some of His 'Twilight' Colleagues to Thank for His First Foray Into Recording

In a 2008 interview with the Los Angeles Times, director Catherine Hardwicke described the tunes as "haunting," "just beautiful," and "fantastic." According to the director, the songs were written well in advance of shooting the first film in the cult-classic series—"years ago," in fact.

In an interview with MTV—per Syfy—he admitted that his songs landed on the lineup "by accident." Apparently, we have co-star Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie in the series, to thank, as she heard a CD of the Batman star's music, recorded "years ago," and shared it with Hardwicke.

Pattinson shared that he "didn't even realize what it was at first" when the director played him a cut, and considered using a pseudonym to keep the two worlds separate. Ultimately, he shortened his name, publishing them both as Rob Pattinson.

Around the same time, the actor told the publication—per Bustle—that music was just his "backup plan" should he fail as an actor, noting, "I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket." At the time, he promised there were no music videos on the horizon, as he had mostly just "played in pubs and stuff" and "didn't want it to look like [he] was trying to cash in" by being featured on the soundtrack.
