On Tuesday, Timereleased its list of "The World's Most Influential Rising Stars."

Every year for the past six years, Time has chosen 100 artists, innovators, leaders and advocates who they believe are shaping the future and defining the next generation of leadership. After they choose their class of nominees, they ask the nominee's close friend, co-worker, or co-star to write about them.

One of this year's nominees was actress Nico Parker, who is best known for playing Sarah Miller in HBO's hit TV series, The Last of Us. Her co-star, Pedro Pascal, who plays her dad in the show, wrote about her for Time.

"Nico Parker is my first daughter. The one you learn from, the one who shows you patience and humor no matter the moment, no matter the day," Pedro wrote in Time. "She moves through a world that is stunned by her beauty, and if and when anyone gets past it, they are met with an intelligence, talent and sensitivity that can vanish any picture you're trying to hold onto. You will never catch up with Nico, but she will wait for you."

Parker only appeared in the first episode of The Last of Us in Season 1 as Joel (Pascal)'s daughter, Sarah Miller, who dies during the events of Outbreak Day. While her character doesn't appear after that, her name gets mentioned in a handful of episodes throughout Seasons 1 and 2. Though the two only worked together for a short amount of time, her impact and friendship have deeply impacted Pascal.

The British actress, who is just 20 years old, made her screen debut in Tim Burton's live-action remake of Dumbo in 2019, where her performance as Milly Farrier was praised for its emotional depth. She later appeared in the HBO miniseries The Third Day in 2020 alongside Jude Law. The next year, she joined the ensemble cast of Reminiscence, acting opposite Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson.

Her breakout moment came in 2023 when she portrayed Sarah Miller in The Last of Us. Though her role was brief, it left a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike, solidifying Parker as one of the most promising young talents of her generation.

This past summer, the actress was featured in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon movie and was announced as the new global ambassador for Lancôme. Parker also appears in the film Poetic License, the directorial debut of actress Maude Apatow, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.

"I ask that she keep going, that she keeps showing the world how it's done," the 50-year-old actor concluded in his message. "Thank you, Nico, for being my first daughter. I will always be here, I will always protect you, just like you do me."

Fans can watch Parker and Pascal in The Last of Us, which is streaming now on HBO Max.
