While attending the A Sense Of Home 10th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 4, Drew Scott spoke with PEOPLE about his brother Jonathan Scott's engagement to Zooey Deschanel

He jokingly revealed that he was open to the idea of building them a wedding venue, adding that there is a lot of love between his brother and Deschanel

Jonathan and Deschanel announced their engagement in August 2023, and the HGTV star recently revealed why they aren't in a race to make it down the aisle

Drew Scott is willing to do whatever it takes to get his twin brother, Jonathan Scott, and his fiancée Zooey Deschanel, down the aisle.

The 47-year-old HGTV star spoke with PEOPLE while attending the A Sense Of Home 10th Anniversary Gala at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 4.

When asked if he and Jonathan were going to have to build a wedding venue for the couple's nuptials following a two-year engagement, the realtor jokingly reveals he is open to the idea.

"I will offer to build a venue, right?" he says, adding, "I'm going to harass him. You know what? I will tell him that you told me. It's not me pushing, but I was told... People were saying, that you need to get this done."

Despite his joke, Drew stresses that he's not worried about Jonathan and Deschanel, 45, who are keeping busy with work and their family life.

"And again, they love each other. They're amazing together. I'm like, 'You guys, it'll happen when it happens.' And for now, they just love the time together with the kids," he explains.

Jonathan is stepdad to the actress's daughter, Elsie, 10, and son Charlie, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband, Jacob Pechenik.

In August, Jonathan spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about his lengthy engagement, explaining that he and Deschanel have had so many other things going on that they aren't as focused on saying "I do."

"We've just been having so much fun traveling with the kids and filming this show and stuff," he said, referencing he and Drew's HGTV series Chasing the West. "So no, we have not actually made any plans yet, which, it's been two years now since I proposed."

But according to Jonathan, when they do tie the knot, he and Deschanel will create a day that resonates with them and brings their loved ones together.

"Whatever we do, it has to be meaningful to us and we want to gather our friends and family and have a good time," he said in the same interview, adding, "we want to keep it very, very intimate."

Jonathan and Deschanel, who have been an item since late 2019, got engaged in August 2023 while on a family trip to Scotland. PEOPLE got an exclusive first look at her one-of-a-kind engagement ring, which resembles a flower crown and features colorful gemstones.

"I didn't want just a diamond ring," she told PEOPLE at the time. "There's just so many different beautiful gemstones. It's fun to have something different. I mean, I love diamonds, don't get me wrong. I'm not going to turn down a diamond. But I like the fun colors and I like pink and purple."

Drew attended the ceremony to present an award to Jeremy Renner, who was recognized alongside his sister Kym Renner by the Los Angeles-based nonprofit for their work as part of RennerVation Foundation and The Change Reaction.

"I've known Jeremy for years," the reality star tells PEOPLE at the event. "We've actually done a renovation together and just seeing what Kym and Jeremy have been doing to help kids, it's such a huge focus for them and give people that Sense of Home is so in line with what we're doing here with A Sense of Home, right?"

He continues, noting that he was impressed by Jeremy, especially after his recovery from an accident involving a snowplow in January 2023.

Referencing Jeremy's "near-fatal accident," and having to "literally, learn how to walk."

Drew also noted that Renner "reconnected with a lot of his roots" and "what he was passionate about" through his recovery. He aso noted that Renner used "his star power to give back to kids and families. And so he's got a big heart."

The HGTV star was joined at the event by his wife, Linda Phan. While on the red carpet, Drew gives PEOPLE a sweet update on their two kids Parker, 3, and Piper, 1.

"They're amazing," he gushes, jokingly asking, "Do I look tired?"

"Even just leaving tonight, coming over here, it's their bedtime, and Piper, she's just 16 months, and she runs to the closet and opens the door and grabs her shoes, and she puts her shoes on. She doesn't quite talk yet, but she's like... and she's basically saying like, 'I'm coming with you.' So she's trying to get dressed up to come here. I'm like, 'Not for you tonight.' "
