Candace Cameron Bure is celebrating a big birthday for the show that made her a star — Full House is 38!
"38 years since we first met the Tanners??" Bure, who played eldest daughter D.J. Tanner on the series, wrote in a post on her Instagram on Monday. "Oh, Mylanta!! What a beautiful journey filled with laughter, lessons, and lots and lots of love... #FullHouse was my childhood, my family, my home. Forever grateful."
The beloved sitcom, which follows widowed father Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) as he gets help from his brother-in-law Jesse (John Stamos) and childhood best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) to help him raise his three daughters (played by Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), first started airing on ABC on September 22, 1987.
Alongside Bure's written celebration, the star also shared an entire roll of candid behind-the-scenes photos of the cast. Some photos are taken on set of the show and feature most of the stars, which also included Lori Loughlin as Aunt Becky, Scott Weinger as D.J.'s boyfriend and Andrea Barber as D.J.'s best friend, Kimmy. Several official cast photos appear to have made the Instagram carousel as well.
The late Saget, who died in 2022, smiles bashfully next to a young Bure in one of them. Bure and Loughlin are shown together waiting on a ride at Disneyland in another. Barber, Bure, Sweetin, and the Olsen twins pose together sweetly in several others, including in one that looks like it was taken at Christmas time.

Also included in the Instagram tribute are several videos — one of which was taken on Feb. 24, 1995, and shows the cast taking turns bowing before their last-ever studio audience at the taping for the series finale.
At least one cast member loved Bure's post. Next to a series of heart emojis, Coulier commented, "My family that I will love forever." The sitcom's cast is famously close, and frequently pays tribute to or shares memories from the show.

Bure began her career as a child actor in the early '80s, appearing on shows like St. Elsewhere, Punky Brewster, and T.J. Hooker before making her big-screen debut in 1987's Some Kind of Wonderful. That same year, she began her eight-season run on Full House.
Full House ultimately aired from 1987 to 1995 on ABC. A spinoff series Fuller House ran for five seasons on Netflix from 2016-2020.
