Becca Kufrin is reflecting on the day she and her husband Thomas Jacobs tied the knot at a courthouse — and recruited a local restaurant employee to serve as their witness
Speaking to PEOPLE, the Bachelorette alum recalled how she was just 3 weeks postpartum when they wed at a San Diego courthouse
"One of the funny things was we actually had the server at our restaurant as our official witness who signed the documents for us," she revealed
Becca Kufrin is reflecting on the day she and her husband Thomas Jacobs tied the knot at a San Diego courthouse — just three weeks after welcoming their son.
Speaking with PEOPLE about her partnership with Momcozy for Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the Bachelorette alum, 35, opened up about her favorite memories from her 2023 wedding to Jacobs, 33 — and shared that although she was in a state of "newborn fog," she still remembers inviting a stranger to be a witness at their courthouse nuptials.
"We just went to the courthouse and just did a little wedding," Kufrin said, recalling the special day. "We lived down in San Diego, so we just did it on Coronado [Avenue] at our favorite hotel restaurant."
"Our wedding was interesting because Benny was three weeks old when we officially got married," she shared, referring to the couple's son Benson Lee Jacobs Kufrin, whom they welcomed on September 21, 2023.

"I think the main thing that sticks out in my mind — again, I was deep new in the newborn fog at this point because Benny was only three weeks," she shared. "But one of the funny things was we actually had the server at our restaurant as our official witness who signed the documents for us."
According to the Bachelor franchise star, that wasn't the only time the couple met the man who served as their witness ("His name is Dylan Valenzuela, shout out to Dylan").
"Now. we actually go back and see him all the time, which is really fun," Kufrin said. "We were there for our one-year wedding anniversary — this was last October. ... We saw him walking. Thomas and I were there celebrating our anniversary, and Dylan's walking towards us we're like, 'Dylan, our witness!'"
"He remembered it, too. And so it was just the fun little memory for us," she finished. "... It makes for a fun story."

The Bachelor in Paradise stars officially tied the knot on October 13, 2023 announcing the news in a joint Instagram post on Friday.
"10/13/23 | Mr. & Mrs." they captioned a carousel of photos on social media.
In the images, the happy couple — who met in 2021 while filming season 7 of BIP — posed while holding their son with an envelope titled "Marriage Records," plus a shot with their stroller and rings.
Last year, the couple marked their first wedding anniversary by each sharing an Instagram post in honor of the occasion. Kufrin reminisced by putting together a Reel featuring photos and clips from the pair's wedding.

The video, which is set to G Flip's song "2 Million," shows the family of three celebrating and signing paperwork at a beachfront restaurant.
In her own lengthy caption, Kufrin paid tribute to her husband, writing: ""Happy anniversary to the man who makes my heart smile."
"I wouldn't change a thing about how we officially tied the knot - down to having a random server as our witness, but I promise if we ever do have a bigger wedding celebration, you will get your white dress and probably a professional photographer. You are my moon, sun and stars combined."
She jokingly concluded her message, "I love you (even when you eat the last bites of my food)."
